This year, Cane Bay Elementary and Cane Bay High made a very short-list of area recipients of the State Palmetto Gold Awards. These awards recognize schools that attain high levels of absolute performance, high rates of growth, and make substantial progress in closing the achievement gap.

The grand opening and dedication of the brand-new middle school took place last night.  With a special performance by the band, the ribbon was cut and all were free to check out the new school.  It’s a state-of-the-art facility complete with a beautiful library media center and computer labs in every hallway.  I got the impression that the kids are actually excited for school to start.  Go blue!

The dedication ceremony for the Cane Bay Elementary School was held recently.  Members of the administration, faculty, support staff, as well as community residents were there to celebrate the new school that opened this past fall.  Exemplifying the spirit of the community, the neighboring Del Webb Chorus was there to sing along with the third grade chorus.
